Get Dirty For OCD

Hey everyone! I am super stoked to announce the launch of my very first social media campaign and online challenge, as part of Mental Health Awareness Month:

The #GetDirtyForOCD Awareness Challenge!

I've been living with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) for most of my life and I'm intimately aware of the great need in this world for more awareness, understanding, compassion, support and resources for those affected by this condition.

My hope is that, through this campaign, we can spread that awareness and make the world a better place for those with OCD and their loved ones.

I've included the guidelines and info for participating in this challenge below!

Join the Challenge!

Join the #GetDirtyForOCD Awareness Challenge and help spread awareness about Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)!

OCD can make life and everyday tasks feel pretty messy - and, for some, getting dirty or messy is triggering and distressing, to put it mildly. For many, OCD is a debilitating condition to live with. So, we're flipping the script and embracing the mess to show support for those with OCD and to help raise awareness about this condition that affects the lives of millions worldwide!

Here's how you can participate:

1. Get dirty! Cover yourself in dirt, mud, paint, glitter, or anything else you can think of.

2. Take a photo or video and share it on social media with the hashtag #GetDirtyForOCD.

3. Learn something new about OCD and share a factoid or tidbit of info along with your post or share how OCD has personally affected your life.

4. Tag a friend (or more than one!) to join in the challenge!

OR if getting dirty isn't your thing (totally understandable!), you can still make a difference by:

• Donating $5 to a charity or organization that aims to improve the lives of those with OCD. I've set up a fundraising page with proceeds going toward the International OCD Foundation 's Annual Fund, which is providing invaluable support and resources for those with OCD. You can check it out here! Big thank you to the IOCDF for their support of this project.

• Sharing what you've learned about OCD or how it has impacted your life.

Together, let's raise awareness about OCD and how it affects the lives of people all around the world. Let's get dirty, let's learn, and let's make a difference!

Follow us on Instagram (@getdirtyforocd) to stay in the loop and feel free to follow @supermaradyworld on Instagram and @supermaradyworld on Threads for additional updates and behind-the-scenes content. You can also join us on Patreon for more updates. There is the option on there to pledge $2 per month to gain access to bonus behind-the-scenes content and be the first to receive updates. Please don't feel obligated to contribute monetarily - but, if you do, it is greatly appreciated and your contribution will go toward funding this project and other advocacy projects.

#GetDirtyForOCD #GetDirty #OCDChallenge #BreakTheCycle #BreakTheStigma #ThereIsHope

That's it! I can't wait to see how this unfolds and I hope you consider participating! Together, we can make a difference!

Thank you to everyone who has been supporting this project so far - from the people participating in the challenge to the people helping to promote the campaign (shout-out to the Street Team!) to the mental health advocates who have gotten on board and everyone else in between! Your support means the world to me.

Stay tuned! I'll be doing the challenge myself and sharing that with y'all!

Thanks for reading

Many hugs,

Marady A.K.A. Max
